FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE RULES
Points
Scoring
A goal from a goalkeeper will be awarded with 20 points.
An assist from a goalkeeper will be awarded with 10 points.
A penalty save from a goalkeeper will be awarded with 3 points.
If a goalkeeper plays in a match (regardless of time duration) he will be
awarded 4 points, with 2 points deducted for the first goal conceded, and a
further 1 point deduction for each goal conceded thereafter (ie. a goalkeeper conceding one goal = 2 points, a
goalkeeper conceding three goals = 0 points).
A goal from a defender will be awarded with 5 points.
An assist from a defender will be awarded with 3 points.
If a defender plays in a match (regardless of time duration) he will be
awarded 3 points, with 2 points deducted for the first goal conceded, and a
further 1 point deduction for each goal conceded thereafter (ie. a defender conceding one goal = 1 point, a defender
conceding three goals = -1 point).
A goal from a midfielder will be awarded with 4 points.
An assist from a midfielder will be awarded with 2 points.
A goal from a striker will be awarded with 3 points.
An assist from a striker will be awarded with 1 point.
If one of your players scores three goals in one match then he will have an
extra 1 point added to his score.
If one of your players scores an own goal in a match then he will have 3
points deducted from his score.
If one of your players is sent off in a match, then he will have 5 points
deducted from his score.
If one of your players misses a penalty during the course of the game ie. not including penalty shoot-outs, he will have 3
points deducted from his score.
If a player comes on as a substitute during a match he will still gain or
lose points accordingly. If a player gets substituted, his points before
that event still count.
The player with the most points in a particular week will have an extra 1
point added to his score.
If you are the highest scoring team in a week then you will receive an
extra 1 point to your score.
Substitutes will only come into play if at least one of your first-choice
players do not play in the same week. The time spent on the pitch by
players is irrelevant - one second is enough for them to have
‘played’ in that week.
If a player gets dropped, injured or suspended then he will be
automatically replaced whilst out with your substitute from that position,
and when your first-teamer returns, he will go straight back into the team.
Assists will be taken directly from the online BBC Football text
commentary, on the same webpage as full match reports. If a goal is
re-assigned to a player, and the text commentary is not updated, the assist
will be given to the last player to touch the ball before the goalscorer, as long as he is
on the same team as the goalscorer.
If a goalkeeper or defender makes any appearance during a match, they will
still lose/gain any points covering the entire match eg.
should Gary Cahill come on after 85 mins with Chelsea winning 6-1, he will
immediately acquire +1.
Should the FA or Premier League change any decisions with regards to sendings off, then these points will be amended in the
Fantasy League accordingly. Goals awarded to individuals will be based on
the reporting of the BBC Football website on the Sunday points are being calculated, and will not be changed after this date
(even if the Dubious Goals Panel changes the ruling on the awarding of a
goal).
The Fantasy League will be updated and uploaded every Sunday (unless
otherwise stated). If someone is unhappy with their points score for that
week and think it should be corrected, then they should contact me (or
preferably the panel) as soon as they can. A decision will then be taken by
the appointed three-person panel (not including myself). If the majority
vote for changing the points score it will be changed, otherwise the
original score will remain. Should the person asking for the score change
be one of the people on the said panel, the view from the remaining two
will count. The score change will remain as it was unless both these panel
members vote against it. The three-person panel are in place to pass
judgement on all issues of controversy that may arise.
Changes /
Transfers
In addition to any funds remaining from the £20m provided on
the evening of the auction, an additional £10m is also given to each
manager post-auction to purchase new players during the season. This may be
used to bid for any player on the ‘Players Left’ list (an
updated sheet included on the website every week), or for any player
newly-transferred player into the Premier League.
Bids submitted must be in multiples of £0.1m; any transfer requests made
without a bid will not be recognized.
Transfer bids, requests and changes can ONLY be made by emailing
fftransfers@hotmail.com.
All transfer requests by WD must be made directly to the email
account, to be checked by GF each Sunday morning to avoid controversy. If
more than one manager bids for the same player in one given week,
then the manager with the highest bid will obtain the player. If two
or more people have the same winning bid, then one of these
managers will be drawn out at random at the first available opportunity
before the new week begins - conducted between myself and another
party.
There is no limit to the amount of transfers made
as long as the remaining transfer budget is stayed within, with each
transfer made costing 50p. This fund will provide the winnings for the
Fantasy League Cup.
To be valid, transfer requests or team change requests MUST be made in full
ie. one player IN, one player OUT. Any requests
not made in full will be ignored.
Should a player transfer outside of the Premier league permanently, or
until the end of the season, then that person can choose a replacement from
the player list free of charge. As priority is given to managers bidding
for players, managers in the above situation should send three potential
replacements to either myself or fftransfers@hotmail.com ie. 1st choice, 2nd choice & 3rd choice.
Despite the above, a two-point weekly penalty will be given to any team
which does not attempt to cover the ‘gap’ in their team ie. if a full Fantasy League week passes and three
potential replacements have not been given for the departed player,
two-point deductions will be put in place on a weekly basis.
Should a player from your team be loaned outside the Premier league but is
expected to return before the end of the season (for example a player
moving on a three-month loan deal in January), that player will remain in
your team. It is your responsibility to transfer such players from your
team.
Should a player from your team be loaned outside of the Premier
league until the end of the season, then as normal, that person can replace
that player free of charge. If, however, that particular
player returns to the Premier league earlier than expected for any
reason, the player will not return automatically to the team in which he
belonged to - instead the player will be placed on the 'Players Left' list
and made available to all.
Should a player from your team be banned (for any period of time, for any
reason ie. a six-month drugs ban), that player
will remain in your team until a paid-for transfer is made.
Should a player be injured and ruled out for any period length, the normal
transfer rules still apply.
All changes made (whether within the team or players from the list) will
only commence from the following Sunday after the change is made, and must
be made before Saturday midnight to ensure they are included for the
following week.
No transfers can be made directly between managers in the Fantasy League.
You can change the players within your team as often as you like.
Auction Rules
You are allowed £20m to spend on your squad of 15 players.
You must buy 11 players in a 4-5-1 formation with 4 substitutes, 1 for each
position.
The person who gives the final (highest) bid must accept that player within
their team at the stated price.
Should a player spend more than £20m in the auction, players will be
removed from their squad in reverse order (ie.
starting with the second striker they bought) until they are on or below
the £20m maximum. In addition, five points will be deducted per £0.1m over.
Players being removed from a squad in the above scenario will be placed
back onto the ‘Players Left’ list, with each manager eligible
to bid.
Each manager MUST pay all £30 of their entry fee at (or before) the auction.
General
Rules
The season begins on the first Premier league weekend, and ends with the last game that points can be
scored from, whether that be Premier league, domestic or European
competitions.
Every match that is played in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup,
Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League competitions
will gain or lose your players points accordingly. All
other competitions or qualifying rounds DO NOT count.
In the included competitions, extra-time counts but penalty shoot-outs do
not.
The week runs from Sunday to Saturday.
Should a game be abandoned for any reason, points gained / lost during that
game will not count.
Should two or more teams be on the same overall points total in a
particular week, they will be placed according to the highest points gained
in that week. In the event of two teams finishing level on points at the
end of the season, money from those positions will be divided between those
teams equally.
The cost to play will be £30 per season.
In terms of prizes, the exact percentage/money split will be communicated
to managers before the start of the season once the number of entrants is
known.
If there are any queries - consult the Fantasy League committee, who will
take any decisions from there-on.
THE
FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP RULES
There is no entry fee into the FL Cup. All teams that take
part in the FL will be automatically entered into the FL Cup unless they
request to be withdrawn from the competition.
All points scoring for The Fantasy League Cup will be taken directly from
the Fantasy League.
Bonus points given in the FL for team and player of the week will NOT be
included in the Cup Scores.
Any changes made to a player’s team on the Saturday night of a cup
weekend will NOT affect the players Cup score. The team as of Friday
morning of the Cup weekend will be the team used to play the Cup game.
In the event of a postponed game, the FL Cup will NOT take
into account points from the re-arranged fixture. Only points from
the actual FL Cup weekend will count.
As with the FL, games that require extra time and a penalty shoot out - extra-time counts in the scoring but
penalty shoot-outs do not.
Should a game be abandoned for any reason, points gained / lost during that
game will not count.
All rounds will be played over a full weekend (Friday to Monday).
The date for Round 1 of the FL Cup will be on the weekend of FA Cup Round
3. The format for this will be announced once definite numbers have been confirmed, but will no longer include byes. All teams
will be involved at this stage.
If a Cup-tie is drawn, it will be re-played over the following weekend and
each weekend after until a winner is decided, with the same rules applying
each time.
The date for the Final of the FL Cup will be the preceding weekend to the
final day of the Premier league season when all twenty teams are scheduled
to play.
In the event of the final being tied after a replay, which would be played
over final day of the season, the team with the highest ‘Cup
Score’ during the season will be named the winner.
If the scores are again tied, the result will be decided on the team that
received the most teams of the week during the FL season.
In the unlikely event of the teams still being tied, the scores of the
teams contesting the final will be put against each other starting with the
opening week and working forward until a winner is found.
The dates for the remaining rounds will be announced after the official Premier
league fixtures have been announced, but will be the first weekend of the
month when ALL Premier league teams are scheduled to play.
The draw for the first round of the FL Cup will be done on the Sunday of FA
Cup Round 2 Weekend.
The draw for the remaining rounds will be done on the Sunday after the
previous FL Cup round weekend.
As a minimum, Mr Frank and one other person will
conduct the draws for each round of the FL Cup.
All FL players can attend each draw if they want.
The prize money for the FL Cup will be all money received through transfers
during the FL Season, as well as £20 via original FL entry fees. £10 will
be given to the runner-up, with the remainder given to the manager of the
winning FL Cup team.
If there are any queries - consult the Fantasy League committee, who will
take any decisions from there-on.
